A Visit with the Dentist
Well I finally got the children to the dentist, it's been far too long for Corben (before Germany) and this was Maddie's first trip. I chose to go to a place called "Smile Starters" because they specialize in pediatric dentistry but I have to say I was a little wary because they told me when I made the appointment that I could not go back with my kids while they had their procedures done. Corben I knew would be just fine with that, but I pictured Maddie being dragged from my arms kicking and screaming to the back of the office. So much for that....maybe I was a little sad that she had no problem WHATSOEVER waltzing off while holding big brother's hand to go through the big door where she had never been before. [Yeah, wish I had a picture of that now....!] She even smiled as she looked back....too grown up for me already! Madison was finished before Corben and skipped out with her little treasures, multiple stickers on her sweater, a bouncy ball, sparkly/glitter bracelet and a new toothbrush and toothpaste. Corben came out a bit later, sporting a sparkling smile (newly cleaned and treated with grape flouride) and his treasures -- 2 parachuting soldiers, stickers, a blue sparkle/glitter bracelet [???] and a toothbrush that looks like an adults [he thought that was really cool]. The best part for me however was the report that there were ZERO cativites! Yahoooooooo!

Yep, we made out like bandits! :)

Can it be true -- It's been FORTY-TWO???
To make a loving pair.
There’s a joy just being around you,
A feeling we love to share.
Bringing years of joy and fun.
May each year keep getting better,
And the laughter and love keeps going on and on!

Dreams Really Do Come True....It Can Happen To You!
First a little history of the first seven years.....
(Sorry I turned off the music....for those that didn't hear it, it was playing "Young at Heart" by Frank Sinatra)
That should give you a good idea of Corben through the years and his constant obsession with dirt bikes. Now to present day......
We came across an unreal deal on a little 100cc dirt bike -- to good too pass up even. You can't go wrong for $60 smackers. That video is when Corben saw the bike for the first time....
It's missing a couple things on it...like no fenders and a flat back tire, but we took care of the back tire and it runs really good for being a little Chinese bike.

Today, after a week, Corben was able to take it out and ride it in the field by our house. He could have ridden the entire day.
Here is the video of his first ride:
Congratulations Corben, we love you so much and are so happy that we could finally get you "my very own dirt bike so I can ride it." Wishes do come true!

A 'Phoney' Question
I've been working and compiling some pictures for a great post in the next couple days, but until I get everything together I have a question for all that drop by our blog...
We are coming up on our 'new every two' deal for our Verizon cell phones and are thrilled with the prospect of getting new phones. Both of us have the LG vx5200 and CANNOT STAND THEM!!
Within the last 6 months both phones developed battery problems and we're basically counting down the days to get replacements.
I'll put it out there that I'm not a 'crackberry' addict or big on text messages, and I already have an ipod, so I don't need a phone with those features....maybe one that takes decent pictures every so often (the pictures to be used for wallpaper on my phone ;) and a phone that I can record my own ringtones on. I like that feature a lot!
So then, the question is this: What cell phones do you use? Is there a brand that you love and stand behind? Or is there a phone you recommend that we avoid like the plague??? Thanks for your input! I'll keep you posted on what I end up getting next month.

Meanwhile back at the Ranch....
Corben was invited to a birthday party at the horse stables this last Saturday, and both he and Maddie had the opportunity to ride a pony and a horse. They both loved it, which really is not surprising--our little adventure seekers. Maddie would have ridden the whole time if there hadn't been any other children waiting for turns. Who knows, maybe Corben will want to have his next birthday there as well...
